Join the MoDH at Local Farmers Markets!

The Museum of Durham History is joining the Durham Farmers Market and the Black Farmers Market for the 2025 season!
The Museum of Durham History is hitting the road! As part of our Faces of Durham traveling exhibit, we’re joining both the Durham Farmers Market and the Black Farmers Market once a month to bring history into the heart of the community. These pop-up events are FREE and open to the public, and we’d love to see you there!
When: Saturday, May 24th- Durham Farmers Market (Durham Central Park) 8am-12pm
Sunday, June 1st- Black Farmers Market (Durham Tech Community College) 1pm-4pm
Saturday, June 14th- Durham Farmers Market (Durham Central Park) 8am-12pm
At each market, you’ll have the chance to explore personal stories, photographs, and powerful narratives from Durhamites past and present. Faces of Durham celebrates the people who have shaped our city both the well known players, and the lesser known as well.
Whether you’re stopping by for fresh produce or coming out just for us, we invite you to:
-
Visit the traveling exhibit and share your own Durham story
-
Chat with our friendly staff and volunteers
-
Learn how you can get involved with the Museum
-
Enjoy a vibrant day at one of Durham’s favorite weekend spots!
Want to go beyond just visiting? We’re always looking for volunteers to help us bring these events to life. It’s a great way to connect with the community and share in Durham’s living history.
