Durham 150 Closing Ceremony

The Durham 150 Closing Ceremony was a night we will not soon forget! Museum staff was on hand with our Story Kiosk asking attendees to share their favorite memories from Durham 150. Check out our YouTube channel to see their stories! The audience travelled through Durham’s history thanks to friends like MoDH board member and local historian Jim Wise, State of Things host Frank Stasio, and FireStream Media’s Carol Thompson who put together a great audio/visual experience! The 29 honorees selected by the Sesquicentennial Honors Commission were also featured throughout the show. The outstanding performance of the anthem “I Choose Durham,” co-written and performed by another MoDH board member Joshua Gunn, closed out the show. Be sure to check out all of the great photos from the event on Facebook.

It has been a great year of commemoration for Durham full of fun, collaborative, and impactful events from the community! We thank everyone who made it possible and look forward to Durham’s next 150 years!
