A Summer of Events at MoDH!

The Museum of Durham History, with lead support from the Durham Merchants Association Charitable Foundation, is excited to announce a full summer of educational programming as we begin to return to return to in-person events. We are excited to partner with other organizations from the Central Park Neighborhood as we share its history and impact on the community. These events are part of our ongoing programming related to our newest exhibit, From Tobacco Market to Innovation Hub: Durham’s Central Park Neighborhood, with special thanks to the Bee Murry Memorial Fund and Durham Central Park.

Kid’s Craft Event: June 5 10AM-1PM | Help MoDH craft a mural inspired by the Central Park neighborhood with materials from the Scrap Exchange. Participants will decorate lettersKids of all ages welcome!

Royal Ice Cream Sit-In Dedication: June 23 6PM | Join us at 500 W Main St to hear from our special guests who participated in the sit-in as we dedicate our Royal Ice Cream Sign.

Movie Night at Durham Central Park: June 25 8PM | Join us at Durham Central Park on the lawn for a special screening of the documentary The Rise and Fall of Liberty. You bring the chairs and we’ll bring the popcorn!

Durham History Trivia at Fullsteam Brewery: July 13 7-9PM | Test your Durham knowledge with trivia hosted by MoDH at Fullsteam Brewery! We will provide drink tickets for the first 20 people in the door!

Hutchins Garage Tour August 12 6PM| Building owner Mark Hutchins will provide a tour of the historic building and share family stories.
