A Super Busy Spring with the MoDH!
Posted on May 7, 2026Spring of 2026 has been one for the books! From Black History Month presentations, to field trips, and exhibit openings we have had one of our busiest Spring seasons yet, and we are so grateful.
February and March were filled with opportunities to teach the public about Durham’s rich and fascinating Black history — think Black Wall Street, the beginnings of Hayti, Monkeybottom, and Braggtown neighborhoods, and the stories of major players like Aaron McDuffie Moore, Pauli Murray, and so many more. It was a blast to share these stories, and our traveling exhibits with so many wonderful companies, schools and organizations.

March and April were filled with a slew of students, over 500 came to the Museum in 6 weeks time! Not only that, but our “Family Fun Day: Where Science Meets History” was more than we could have ever asked for! With over 6 different partners all coming together to show off their history projects and science experiments with local kids, it was a fun, education filled day here in the heart of Durham.

We wrapped up the season at the same time we wrapped up exhibits — May 1st was our culminating event for Made in the Triangle: The Story of RTP, where we hosted “A Talk With the Authors” at the NC Biotech Center. Mack Paul discussed his upcoming book Miracle Road: The Story of Research Triangle Park, which served as a primary source of research for the exhibit, releasing to the public this Fall. It was a fabulous, conversation filled evening learning more about Mack and his fathers’ research, and the interesting conversations they had with some of the Park’s founders and developers.

Thank you so much to all of our collaborators, partners, and to our community for a busy, and WONDERFUL Spring season!
