Join the Museum of Durham History as we welcome local clubs and organizations to set up shop at the Museum (500 W. Main Street, Durham NC 27701) for our Family Fun Day: Where Science Meets History! Each group will have a booth where adults and kids alike can check out their show and tell items — think bugs, games, slime and more! Bring your family by for an engaging and FREE activity where you can learn, play, and explore Durham’s amazing history. The event is free and open to the public, welcoming families of all ages to experience science in fun, accessible, and surprising ways.

  • Durham County Soil and Water Conservation District 
  • Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment

  • Techies 4 Tomorrow

A special thank you to Timber Pizza Co. of Durham for providing FREE pizza for everyone! Plus the Museum will be providing local donuts from Carolina Glazed Donuts.

From slime-making stations and creative experiments to robotics showcases and environmental games, our Family Fun Day: Where Science Meets History offers something for every curious mind. Attendees can expect a vibrant mix of activities spanning science, technology, engineering, nature, and innovation, with no strict theme, just a shared passion for discovery.

The event will take place on the blocked-off street adjacent to the Museum, where each participating group will host an interactive booth designed to spark imagination and inspire learning!

Family Fun Day: Where Science Meets History is part of the Museum of Durham History’s ongoing public programming for its exhibition, Made in the Triangle: The Story of RTP, which explores the region’s legacy of innovation and discovery.
