On Saturday, August 23, visit the MoDH for an all-ages pop-up event from the Friends of Geer Cemetery focusing on artifacts and genealogy.

The Museum of Durham History, Friends of Geer Cemetery, Preservation Durham, Historic Stagville Foundation, and the North Carolina Collection of Durham County Library are teaming up to showcase artifacts from Geer Cemetery, share information about researching your own family history, and provide family friendly programming.

As part of the ongoing programming for the exhibit, Unearthing Stories of Geer Cemetery, the Museum of Durham History and Friends of Geer Cemetery are partnering to host and promote events and public programs exploring the stories, archaeology, and preservation of one of Durham’s earliest African American cemeteries.
