General Volunteer Opportunities:

Interested in volunteering with the Museum of Durham History? We are a young organization, growing in every way, and our volunteers are what makes a lot of the work that we do possible.

Volunteer opportunities usually fall into three categories: Special Events, Special Projects, and Foundational Tasks. Special events are typically evenings and weekends, special projects are opportunities to use skills or expertise (e.g. graphic design, marketing, tech skills) to assist with or even take the lead on projects the Museum is working on, and foundational tasks are opportunities to help during business hours with a variety of needs that arise daily. In the fall of this year, when we open our doors to the public, we will also need volunteers to assist in greeting and serving visitors at the front desk.
