“Portraits of Durham” Call for Submissions

Guest blog post from our friends at the Durham Arts Council

Who or what represents Durham to you? The Durham Arts Council is asking visual artists to submit work that captures the spirit and diversity of the Bull City. Selected pieces will be included in the upcoming exhibit “Portraits of Durham,” on view at the Durham Arts Council March 15 – May 2, 2019. The “Portraits of Durham” exhibit will coincide with Durham’s official sesquicentennial commemoration, Durham 150. The themes explored in the exhibit will be in keeping with Durham 150’s mission: recognizing Durham’s past, present, and future, honoring the changemakers who shaped Durham’s unique sense of place, promoting ideals of inclusiveness and shared prosperity, and celebrating the community’s spirit, values, and accomplishments.
For detailed information about submitting your work for consideration, download this PDF, or email Susan at stierney@durhamarts.org. Submissions must be received no later than Friday, February 22; there is no fee to apply.
