Michelle Needham Featured on “Too Much Scrolling”

This year, we’re grateful for collaborations with partner organizations like the Carolina Theatre, which strengthens Durham’s arts and culture community. Our movie series with them, connecting films to inspirations for the TV show Stranger Things and our Stranger Times exhibit themes, has been so much fun.  We are excited for the Carolina Theatre’s Spring Retro series!

It was in the lobby of the Carolina Theater while waiting for the Retro Film screening of Batman that Chip Hessenflow, from the Too Much Scrolling podcast, serendipitously crossed paths with us. Driven by a passion for history and media, Chip found himself intrigued by the narrative surrounding Stranger Times.

Listen below to the featured clip of Michelle Needham, Director of Education Programs & Exhibits and curator of Stranger Times, delivering perspective and explaining the symbiotic connection between Stranger Things, Durham, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Bull City teens.
