Looking for a New Volunteer Opportunity? Why not join us!

The Museum of Durham History has an exciting new exhibit and dining series opening in April and we need your help to spread the word and join us for a culinary blast from the past!
Durham is recognized nationally as the “Tastiest Town in the South” and “America’s Foodiest Small Town” and its epicurean appeal draws visitors from all over the world. On April 29th, the Museum  will celebrate the opening of Durham Restaurants, an exhibithighlighting some of the pioneering restaurants throughout the 20th century who brought the community together at the table. The exhibit will also highlight the efforts of community members who fought for the desegregation of Durham’s restaurants as well as entrepreneurs who introduced us to new ethnic cuisines.
We will also be offering a six-part dining series to put the spotlight on some of Durham’s most beloved restaurants and share some unique dishes and recipes from eras of the past.  The first event will kick off right after the exhibit opening and we will host one a month through September.
We are looking for volunteers who can help us leading up to the exhibit opening as well as at the opening itself and throughout the dining series.  Below are some areas where we need assistance or you can let us know how you would like to be involved and we will create a role for you!
  • Marketing, communications and social media support
  • Content creation for our blog, website or featured e-blasts
  • Fundraising and sponsorship support
  • Staffing for the exhibit opening and dining series events
  • Help onsite at the Museum
  • Media outreach
  • Community development

Head over to this link to sign up for a volunteer role, and we will reach out to you ASAP!
