Eddie Plank- “Why not me?”

Poor Eddie Plank. Almost as scarce as Honus Wagner and a fellow Hall of Famer, but not worth nearly as much. A lot of folks know about the famous T206 Wagner card, but a couple others from that same set are also pretty rare.

For instance, supposedly it wasn’t worth it to the manufacturer to replace the broken printing plate that pressed this 1910 Eddie Plank card, so fewer than 100 are out there, fetching almost $190,000 in mint condition. Eddie still has a way to go before he catches up to the $2 million mark for one of the 50 or so Honus Wagner T206’s. So what gives? Any guesses?
