Heritage Inventory

A first-ever inventory of Durham-related historical objects is in the works.  This groundbreaking project, inspired by Durhams Heritage Alliance, will ultimately enrich visitors’ experience with Durham’s past by informing exhibit and program planners of the range of artifacts available for use in displays and other programming.

Public and private organizations and individuals with cultural heritage ties will be contacted and an online artifact inventory developed. The inventory will become a secure part of this web site, accessible to all of the cultural heritage sites in Durham.

If you have objects that may help tell Durham’s story and that you are willing to lend or donate in the future, please email us today to add them to the inventory!

Until we build the Museum, we won’t have space to preserve collections.
