Celebrating the Arts in Durham Banners
A series of banners—Celebrating the Arts in Durham—was created in 2008 by the Museum of Durham History Advisory Committee. Funding came from the Durham Cultural Master Plan and the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation. Lynn Richardson of the Durham County Library and Barbara Williams of BW&A Books lent generous in-kind help.
The banners have been on rotating display in public venues throughout Durham since 2009.
The twelve 2 1/2' by 6' fabric banners are housed in decorative hand-wrought metal frames produced by Al Frega of Durham. Text for the banners is derived from Brighter Leaves, published by Preservation Durham.
